The secret to this trick is the launching technique. Open your lighter and place in your dominant hand, with your thumb on the bottom corner side of the case [opposite the hinge], and your index finger resting on the flint wheel. The open lid should be pointing outwards (away from you). Squeeze your index finger and thumb together quickly. This will ignite the lighter and then launch it. Before you attempt to do the rest of this trick, practice on the launch. At this point, just launch it and see just how far you can make it fly. Choose a “safe” environment to practice in, in order not to harm yourself, your lighter or others. Things to avoid while practicing Teleporter: Gas pumps, fireworks stands, and women wearing copious amounts of hair spray. Having avoided all flammable objects, you’ve likely mastered the launch technique. So try this: Hold up both your hands straight out in front of you. Bend the wrists on both your hands inwards, so that they are pointing at each other. Hold your lighter as shown in Step 1. The idea is to make it fly from your dominant hand and over to your non-dominant hand without moving either hands. Sounds easy right? Nope! Just like nailing a housefly with a baseball bat, Teleporter takes practice! There are basically two ways to look at this trick. The easy route is to launch the lighter slightly up in the air, so that it arcs smoothly into the other hand. The more challenging alternative, and best looking by far, is to launch the lighter with such power that it just launches horizontally [parallel to the ground] without losing height, straight into your non-dominant hand. If you get this one right, it will happen so fast that your audience won’t actually see the lighter take off, just how it emerges lit in your opposite hand. Just like a teleporter!

This is one of the best concepts ever! I find it somewhat easier to start with your thumb on the flint wheel and your middle finger on the bottom, hinge pointing in. It flies higher, sort of.

Are you using a slim lighter in that video? It's hard to tell.

Because 9/10 when I do this trick, it spins. It actually does a flip. No matter how hard I eject**from one hand to the other. And mine is a slim... It looks sweet with a flip, though, so... Yeah! Heh.
