First you hold the lighter by the cap with the hinges facing your palm. Then, with a flick of the wrist, open the lighter. Then light the lighter with your ring finger. After that throw the lighter in the air making it spin. Then catch it in your palm (while still lit). Now close the cap anyway you want.

A fun variation on this trick, is to open the lighter with an inverted squeeze, then light and flip as normal.
