In your dominant hand, with your palm up, hold the lighter with index and middle fingers on the lid and thumb on the case, hinge towards your pinkie. Squeeze the lighter so that your index and middle fingers slide down the reverse case, and thumb falls on the front of case. If you do this quick enough, the lighter will open itself.
