Starting position as shown in picture 1. Open the lighter by pulling your thumb away from your middle finger. While the lighter is opening, insert your pinkie into the space above the hinge, next to the chimney. The side of your middle finger will be on the side of the lighter, and while using your middle finger to pull it around your pinkie, fold your ring finger underneath the body to steady it. The lighter should be resting in the lower part of your palm [towards your wrist] with your pinkie holding it down, and your folded ring finger behind it for support. Snap your middle finger with your thumb down onto the wheel, and it's lit. DON'T KEEP IT LIT TOO LONG - that chimney will get hot! To close, put the tip of your middle finger below the bottom of the wheel, and spin the lighter outwards towards your pinkie. As it spins, catch the bottom corner below the hinge with your thumb. Be sure and keep your ring finger folded underneath the whole time, as it helps to steady the lighter. As you spin the lighter outward, the cap will hit the base of your thumb and close.
