Hold lighter like it is shown in PICTURE 1. (Hinges to the right, if right-handed - to the left, if left-handed). Now tilt your wrist so the lighter is upside down. While tilting, let your stretched thumb hit the cap to cause it open. Now you should be holding the lighter like in PICTURE 2. Spin the lighter back, while letting your thumb drive over the wheel to ignite - PICTURE 3 (mind the sharp edge of the chimney!). To close, perform the same upside-down-tilt and let your thumb take the cap with it.
