yes u can do it away and towards, the way i discribe does the flame above the finger.



he way you imply does the flame over the finger(potentially buring you).



both ways work one takes more pinky finger strength to ingnite it.



try it flip the poistion of the lighter around,





the wheel startes facing away from you your hand. then as it spins inwards the wheel strikes you finger.

Dude, the wheel has to face towards your hand, not away, or else it won't work. But nice one anyways, looks cool if done quick enough.

I noticed there is sites devoted to Zippo tricks, but so far i haven't seen any tricks for BIC lighters: so i figured i post a simple one. This is for all those out there that like tricks but don't like risking lossing that expensive lighters this one's for you.



To perform this trick hold on the sides of the bottom portion of your bic; using your thumb and index finger. Have the wheel faceing away from your hand.

Quickly spin the lighter towards your pinky with a flick of the wrist. Succesfully completed when your pinki stricks the wheel and press down on the fuel button at the same time lighing your bic.



This trick is easier to do if you remove the lighter saftey features, but with practice it can be accomplished with it still on.
