Hold the lighter upside down, with your thumb and middle finger just above the hinge. Smack the bottom (cap) of the lighter with your other hand's palm. The lighter should not be open and you should be holding the cap. Simply use the same hand you smacked the lighter with to "snap" the wheel and you got fire :) Enjoy!
