Hold the lighter in your non-dominant hand by the cap, using thumb and index finger. With other hand hit the lighter from underneath using your palm. This will cause the lighter to fly up in the air spinning with the cap open. Catch the lighter with the same hand you hit the lighter with (see picture 3). Then ignite it with a simple thumb stroke.
