Position the lighter in the Web of your hand, the cap between your thumb and index, hinge down with the base of the lighter in the webbing of your hand. Placing your middle finger on the lower corner of the cap you should be able to apply pressure to open the lighter (try it). That is the opening move. Next add a palm wipe at the same time to light the lighter. Done smoothly it should all be one motion. To close wipe your hand back in the opposite direction.
