Place the lighter in your non-dominate hand between your thumb and middle finger. Hold on to the cap, just over the hinges. With your dominant hand, give the side of the body a good whack using the inside of the hand. This will cause the lighter to spin (270 degrees) through the gap formed by the thumb and middle finger on your non-dominant hand. To ignite, stretch out the index finger and then give the lighter another whack, this time using the outside of your hand. This will cause the body of the lighter (you still hold on to the cap) to spin back up, but this time the sparking wheel will hit the index finger, ignite, and fall back down lit.
