To get the beginning position do the thumbs up sign, curl one set of knuckles out and sit the lighter between your thumb on and index finger (thumb on the top cap corner and index against the bottom body corner) with the hinge facing up. Squeeze the lighter up so that the body pops open. Now that the lighter is open and your holding the thin sides of the cap with your index and thumb push the lighter slightly to the left so that you're able to hold the cap with the same fingers but on the wide sides. Put your middle finger on the front side of the hinge and turn the lighter behind your index finger. Light with your thumb and turn the lighter around the back of your middle finger and into your palm. Cushioning the lighter between your thumb and curled ring finger, pull down on the bottom cap corner so it pops back up and closes.
