So while I was traveling in Italy, i learned a new trick, and thought i'd share with the rest of you: What you have to do is hold the lid, on the top right corner (joint side) of your lighter with your index finger on one side, and your thumb on the other. Next, put your middle finger on top of the lid (non joint side) - this pushes your lighter into the webbing between your thumb and index....this is the starting position. Apply pressure with your middle finger until your lighter spins around and opens (still gripping with the index and thumb. To light simply rest the base of the lighter on your palm, and bring your middle finger down over the wheel....voila!
